MDB Capital Group Announces 2011's The "Best & Brightest" Innovators & Qualifiers for the 2nd Annual Bright Lights Conference

MDB's "Best & Brightest" list of companies is drawn from the universe of public companies with at least one U.S. patent and a market capitalization under $500 million. Employing PatentVest's intellectual property metrics, this universe was screened for companies with above average 3-year growth rate for patent application filings (a measure of innovation), above average PatentVest Tech Scores (a measure of patent quality), and low PatentVest citation ratios (a measure of value). These companies were also screened for quality by MDB's professional analytical staff, generating an exceptional list of truly innovative small companies.

The companies that have achieved a position on MDB's "Best & Brightest" list will automatically be extended an invitation to attend and present at our 2nd Annual Bright Lights Conference to be held at Le Parker Meridien Hotel in New York on May 10 & 11. Last year's two day event, held in San Francisco, brought together more than 40 companies and 250 attendees to hear investor presentations focusing on the often unrecognized value embedded in the respective IP of the Bright Lights Companies.

MDB's research has shown that companies demonstrating above average PatentVest metrics (such as PatentVest Tech Score and the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of patent applications) outperformed their publicly traded peers. This outperformance is highlighted firsthand by tracking the market performance of the presenters at last year's Bright Lights Conference. The Bright Lights presenters (as an index) outperformed the S&P Small Cap 600 Index by 1.4 to 1 and the S&P 500 Index by 2.8 to 1.
