Looks as if if the process began today, the announcement alone would have generated much more interest ... seems to be daily coverage of some sort of broadband investment/value going on
BRUSSELS -(Dow Jones)- Europe's top antitrust official Neelie Kroes said Thursday she will update and simplify E.U. rules on state aid for the information and communications technology sector to help E.U. nations roll out next-generation broadband networks.
Broadband-for-all and next-generation networks are part of the European economic recovery plan.
The new communication will explain in which cases and under which conditions this financing can take place and provide a clear and predictable framework for governments, Kroes told a committee at the Dutch parliament.
Soon there will be subsidies by government to companies rolling out the new infrastucture.
