I think the above is backwards. (???) Should read:

  • Longer wavelengths carry further and can travel better through (or around) obstacles, but can't be used to carry large amounts of information.
  • Shorter wavelengths can carry more data, but travel a shorter distance and are more easily absorbed by immovable objects.
