There certainly is a lot of slime ... many of which have been getting away with changes in their price estimates on mosts stocks and forecasts on the economy more often then a few of the posters on the other board.
At this point with the price being where it is a shareholder can not be expecting much and to keep the company operating eventually the debt holders will be taking over the company to protect their investments.
How or what becomes of Nortel is any bodies guess, suffice to say it is a far cry from what it was and its transformation remains to be complete....
Speaking of pension funds ... the defined benefit plans are at great risk with the market gyrations of late and likely to get worse ... the last thing any corporations or analysts are talking about is the unfunded obligations. Our gov'ts should be taking action to protect those who will be depending upon those funds to make regular payments ... the 700 billion bailout south of us and our gov't should be active in addressing this.
The real dodo in this area has yet to been uncovered ... I have said it before and I will say it again ... this is the big market meltdown and we are not likely much more than 50% through the pain we will be feeling.
The spectrum is a quality asset which should protect some of us as the infrasturcture changes for the future favour the pipeline we own.
Remain liquid, protect yourself and expect the worse.
