IMO - Bell is cooked .... they are being left behind on wireless, they are a lost company waiting for transactions to clear which were intended to realize value to the shareholders by devaluing and risking the higher level creditors ... the bondholders ... the bondholders will have their day in court and hold this transaction up for years ... looks good on Bell ... they have for years pretended to act in the public interest ... which was great if you were a shareholder ... they are an antiquated bureacracy swollen from years of being a monopoly with little hope of survival .... the shareholders have got their reward .... by this private equity farce .... it will not happen .... Bell will cease to exist not because it was part of a deal taking them private but because they are not a monopoly ... strong sell (the only way the smart current shareholders will receive value)/short at the right time ... very little upside if any!. Telus is the only wild card and that really is only useful where the future lies ... spectrum is the future ... even though BCE has the resources they would get skinned alive trying to move away from their traditional sales base ... thats the real reason they are moving away from the landline upgrade .... fibre optic are expensive and not the future.
BCE - RIP.
