Dave Webb filed applications with the MVLWB to bring his relatively small mine (located 5 km from Clan) into production. This included completing all of the community consultations Tyhee had to complete, all of the test work Tyhee had to do, plus engaging a number of consultants to prepare specific design elements. In October 2015, after 3 years of regulatory work, Webb received permits to install a camp, mine and mill complex, store tailings and start mining and pouring gold bricks.............Yes, New Discovery Mines Ltd becomes the first gold mine to be permitted into production in the NWT under the current regulatory regime, EVER! And the first gold mine to be permitted in the NWT in over a quarter century.
