It's fascinating to see how the struggle to keep gold above or below $1,600 is taking shape today.

A lot is at stake for now. A considerable breakout to the upside or below may depend on who wins.

Gold is now at $1,602. 744 after briefly dipping below $1,600 twenty minutes ago.
