P. I just fled Argentina where the unofficial non-gov't annual inflation rate is north of 25%. The gov't, however, mandates it to be in the single digits, and promises a very stiff fine if you publically disagree.To me, Argentina is experiencing hyperinflation. To the Argentines, they're not. They're last reference was in the thousands of percent gains they saw in the 1990's. In the USA, the unofficial rate (ok, I'm talking about annual price rises) is about 10%. Will Americans proclaim they're experiencing "hyperinflation" when food prices double in about two years, which would happen with the sort of price hikes (25%) the Argentines are experiencing now?
