With projected, and perhaps prohibitive, multi-billion dollar costs needed to build a million ounce per year mine like Nova Gold´s Donlin project (50% backed by Barrack), a relatively much smaller project like Tyhee's YPG may realize success where its much larger brethren fail by being too big to fund. To this extent, as Barrick put its very expensive Donlin project on hold, it and other mid-tier and large producers may find it much cheaper to acquire smaller projects then build their own mega ones, as Eric Sprott has suggested. So, being a relatively small producer may have its advantages. Something for which the market might eventually reward Tyhee.
