A person owns a grocery store. Does all the things necessary to run a great business. But without their knowlege the clerks are stealing money from the registers. This is similar in my mind of many mining companies. They have all their time rapped up in making sure the cheese is fresh, shelves are full, good customer service etc.. But someone is stealing from their register (affecting their customers and the company bottom line) and for some unexplained reason there is not much industry (management) complaints of this. The grocery store manager would fire the employees. The mining CEOs should also fight to protect their business. So why, in general, aren't they?
