Madness...Madness

There was a cult movie out years ago called Queen of Hearts, about an Allied pilot shot down during WW1 and hiding from the Germans in a mental institution. The patients all had playing card names, led by a fellow called the Queen of Hearts. This was a really hopeless-appearing group of patients, totally divorced from reality. After spending most of the movie trying to have one single serious conversation with any of the patients and in frustration venting on the Queen of Hearts (calling him and his crew mad), the leader looked up, referencing fighter planes heard in the sky, and said to the pilot, "And who are truly mad...those outside, or inside these walls?"

Sorta like our situation, huh?
