Top 10 Reasons a UFO crashed into Clan Lake:

1) Area 51 was not accepting incoming flights at the time.

2) It was all part of a Clandestine Operation.

3) They focussed their neodymium super magnets on the gold spot on their radar but realized too late that gold was not magnetic.

4) Even back then "Spaceship Surfing" was all the craze and accidents do happen.

5) The rudimentry art of "aquatic crop circles" was abandoned shortly thereafter.

6) It was just a stunt for the prequel, "Chariots of the Golds".
