I subscribe to your way of thinking. Build a position in stocks that one could hold for the long-term. Go garden, bike, hike, boat, camp or read a book. On the other hand stay away from ones that are not liquid enough to get out quickly. The retail investor is looking for the quick buck. In and out. Liquidity and safety. TDC is not on their list at this time. Has to be the institutional investor who has a longer-term perspective. Those are even difficult to find.
