$2.3 billion for 2.2 million measured, indicated, and inferred ounces of gold?

Not to second guess Newmont, but . . . wow! $2.3 billion seems like a lot of money for a company with a measured and indicated resource of approximately 1.4 million ounces of gold with a further 0.8 million ounces in the inferred category.
I can't help but wonder what that valuation tells us about where Tyhee might soon be valued.
