I have not been reading the forum for months.

My wife and I just worked through our personal CPI so to speak. The annual change for 2010 has been 8% whereas the stated CPI for British Columbia is under 2.6%. We also keep a place in Vermont (rented) where our personal CPI is roughly the same.

Like most of the Silver Bugs on this site we have experienced anywhere from a 5-10 fold increase in our portfolio since the lows of Oct 2008. Luckily I went heavy on SLW, SVM, EXN, GPR and EDR among others. TDC has been flat but I still hold my position.

Bottom line is that we should have all benefitted and do not need SS. I have been self employed all my life and do not factor in CPP or the OAS benefits. I expect that means testing will eliminate my future payments and that of our friends on this board.

At this time of year I feel for my friends in the US who are facing economic hardships and lack the knowledge to see through the lies of the financial media and government propaganda. You may be one of the lucky ones who left before the SHTF. Some of my Washington State ski friends are regretting that they did not apply for Landed Immigrant Status years ago. I believe that it is too late for most of them. Canada has its own set of problems but the average Joe is not as fiscally embarassed here.

I am not a supporter of the Left or the Right as they are just there to distract the population from the real issues facing us today. Gold and Silver will return as the basis of real money in the not too distant future. Socialism works until you run out of other people's money. This is coming to it's logical conclusion and sooner than I had believed possible.

Tyhee will either fizzle out or be very rewarding. Only time will tell.
