Larry,
That's exactly what Frank Barbera was referring to in his 2007 article, The Return of Yellowknife Gold.
At the PDAC three years ago, Webb specifically made reference to the typical vertical richness of Archean deposits at depth, the ones Frank was using to calculate Tyhee's potential. As I recall, the Giant, Con and Discovery mines never ran out of gold. The deeper they went, the more gold they found. In the end, they were closed down for other reasons, mostly economic.
But, then there's the potential at Clan Lake. Already it's with higher grades than Ormsby or Nick Lake. It's shown a 1000 tonne bulk sample with a grade of 14gpt at surface, and with surface grab samples in the 100's of grams per tonne.
Now the focus is on Clan. And if Tyhee can continue to quickly deliver indicated ounces there, as it already demonstrated in the last couple of years, and can keep up the resource-to-reserve conversion rate of over 50%, Tyhee should, on paper, significantly extend the mine life and ounces per year that we'll see in the Feasibility Study next year.
