Haywire asked,
"But could someone explain to me the rules of disclosure for the industry. If you're not allowed to use some obviously positive samples, and if you have a piece of drill core with visible gold on one side you are required to send the other side for sampling. Is this still part of the Bree-X curse."
Dr. Webb answered, (I paraphrase),
In the Gold industry, it's most always been the practice to De-select samples with visible gold. However, it was not done by all, and it's now NOT a requirement, even though it is generally a standard practice. The industry does apparently odd things. For example, if Tyhee receives a series of 1 MITRE intersection grading 5,3, 8,200, 1 ( all gpt), the standard practice is to record these assays, but report "cut" assays where all of those over a predetermined, often arbitrary, value are reduced to that value. So, using this example, where we have a 100gpt "cut", we would report the figures as 5, 3,8, 100, and 1 gpt.
Thank you,
