Was January 1980 the All-time Record High Price in Gold (inflation adjusted) ?

Was the $850/oz. All-time Record High Gold Price (adjusted for inflation) in January 1980?

On one website, http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/, in 1980, $850 then, now adjusted for inflation, is worth $2,213.06

But, that 1980 peak in gold price lasted only a few days with gold, surrounding that spike up, generally trading in the $500 range.

So, using that website calculator again, $550 in 1980 is now $1,431.98.

Could one conclusion here be that, sans the 1980 record high price spike up in gold, gold is now still trading significantly below previous record high levels, when adjusted for inflation?

And, if so, it wouild seem that we're not that far away from breaking through to new all-time highs.
