TSX Venture: TDC VANCOUVER, March 16 /CNW/ - Tyhee Development Corp. (TSX-V: TDC) today announced the initial results of gold assays from the sampling of its archived diamond drill core at Clan Lake, Yellowknife Gold Project, NWT, Canada. << Highlighted intersections from this recent program: - Drillhole CL001 - 24.0 m of 2.55 gpt gold, including - 7.5 m of 4.18 gpt gold and 21.80 gpt silver; and - Drillhole CL002 - 16.5 m of 2.01gpt gold including: - 4.5 m of 6.38 gpt gold and 7.13 gpt silver, and - Drillhole CL008 - 7.5 m of 2.47 gpt gold; and - Drillhole CL010 - 11.5 m of 3.12 gpt gold and 8.95 gpt silver, and - Drillhole CL011 - 43.5 m of 2.56 gpt gold and 5.06 gpt silver, including - 9.0 m of 5.35 gpt gold and 9.35 gpt silver, and - Drillhole CL015 - 12.0 m of 3.99 gpt gold and 10.09 gpt silver. >> "These are significant intersections from our archival drill core database, some of which are step-out holes expanding the size of the Main Zone" reports Dave Webb, Tyhee's President & CEO. "Prior to Tyhee's involvement at Clan Lake, only the quartz veined rocks were assayed. We now recognize that substantial gold occurs within the host breccias, so a program of relogging, sampling and assaying of these holes is being conducted. These first 14 drillholes are largely within the existing resource (N.R. S.10 R.2, January 22, 2009), however some drillholes are step-out holes. For example, CL008 extends the western boundary of the Main Zone for an additional 25 metres near the north-end towards the Pond Zone." Additional drill results are expected from the Clan Lake Pond Zone which occurs 100 m to the west of the north-end of the Main Zone. This zone has not been assessed before by Tyhee and to date, no gold resource has been attributed to the Pond Zone. The Clan Lake Main Zone gold mineralization is associated with silicification, quartz veining, and quartz breccias with significant pyrrhotite and arsenopyrite disseminations. Previous work included trenching, diamond drilling, and a bulk sample. The zone is 485 m long, up to 200 m wide, poorly exposed to the northwest, and has not been explored in detail to the southeast. There are five subparallel zones over a 1.5 km strike length and other gold showings occur beyond this. Some of these zones have been drilled in the past. Portions of the archival core have been assembled by Tyhee for relogging, sampling and assaying, providing a very cost effective way for the Company to advance the Clan Lake Property. Maps that show the drillhole locations can be found at www.tyhee.com Tyhee is extracting the maximum value from its extensive database, optimizing engineering studies while working to obtain production permits for its wholly owned Yellowknife Gold Project. About Tyhee Development Corp. Tyhee Development Corp. is a gold exploration and development company currently focused on the historic Yellowknife Gold Camp, NWT, Canada. It is the largest property holder in the historic camp, and has the largest exploration and development program underway in the region. Its principal asset is the advanced-stage Yellowknife Gold Project, which consists of 6,625 hectares (15,481 acres) of mining leases located 90 km (56 miles) north of Yellowknife, NWT, Canada. Tyhee completed fire assays on drill core samples using 30 gram aliquots with ICP-ES finish for gold analyses, prepared at Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd. in Yellowknife, and finished at Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd in Vancouver. A semi-quantitative multi-element analysis is run on 0.5 gm aliquot samples leached in a hot aqua regia solution and measured using ICP-ES techniques. Tyhee conducts a rigorous QA/QC program of inserting blanks and duplicates in the field and standards in the laboratory. The laboratory also conducted their own independent QA/QC program including inserting their own standards and rerunning samples from pulped material and reject material. These results were provided to Tyhee. All standards, duplicates, blanks and check assays returned acceptable results. Mr. Val Pratico, P.Geol., Tyhee's Chief Geologist is the designated QP within the meaning of NI 43-101, has reviewed this release and approves of its content. << NO REGULATORY AUTHORITY HAS APPROVED OR DISAPPROVED THE CONTENT OF THIS RELEASE.
