The Canadian press is still promulgating the view that Canadian banks are much better off than US banks. The reality is far from that. Here is a recent interview of Garth Turner by Allan Gregg on TV Ontario. Garth Turner is the author of his recent book "After the Crash". He refers to the real estate crash in his book but in his interview he comments what he thinks of Canadian banks. As far as I recall he was once Canadian Minister of Trade under a conservative government.
