Other Considerations

Banks are often said to "create money out of thin air." That is a misleading statement. Banks create credit and debt out of thin air and make interest money on that debt providing:

1. they can find someone who wants a loan and thinks they can make money with a venture in today's climate

2. the borrower maintains the ability to pay

3. the banks are not killed off by their previous bad loans

Gold miners on the other hand

1. have rights to dig up certain gound

2. they have drilled that gound and know what's in it; precisely how much and where

3. they generally have a land package much larger than what they have explored

4. what they pull out of that ground and process is real money that is not a liability dependent on other people's ability to pay

5. it is misleading and incorrect to say the bankers print money; but it is correct to say that miners extract money* from the ground they have explored and drilled

6. miners always come into favor after paper has gone wild

Right now people want paper. That will change in the not too distant future. Soon people will want money. There's a very big difference in the two mediums of exchange.

*(lawfully defined money by the constitution of the USA)
