I was told by TDW that I could transfer shares held in my trading account to my TFSA without any commission charges. And the value at which I can transfer them is any value I choose on the day of the transfer provided the shares actually traded at such value on that day. So, it seems we got different answers.

Also, when you transfer shares at a loss, you cannot claim the loss later to reduce your capital gains. This is something you should consider. Get proper tax advice.

There is an awful lot of disinformaton and wrong information posted on this forum concerning TFSAs. Do your own due diligence.

I would not even want to know what these same people post here concerning TDC!!! Sad, very sad.
