Hmmm. I think a more realistic outcome is that the average American's standard of living is going to change for the worse. Gas and food will be high, so there will be fewer vacations, entertainment expenditures, new cars, etc. But it's important to recognize that we're getting a similar outcome right now with deflation in that many people don't have any income right now. Which is why governments naturally inflate their way out of deflation- in order to stay in power and cull the populace.
It's also worth noting that deflation, like inflation, is difficult to overcome once the spiral begins, so I wouldn't expect Tyhee to take off for a while yet.
