Baires turned me on to Malbec and now I'm a full convert. Even up here in Canada it's a bargain, though not nearly as much so as in Argentina but a good Mal will cost about 50% less than a comparable French wine. Taste wise it suits my palate as it's a mild wine somewhat like a merlot but personally I think it has a nicer flavor. I am no wine connessoir though.
