Any good articles or anyone knowledgable about this company in the 1930's?

I've got some stats, but not to hand at the moment but the basic story is that initially its shares dropped 20% or so in 1929 , however its earnings were very poor leading up to the crash due to high costs, then in the next few years its earnings increased due to lower costs even though the price of gold was fixed, so by 1933 or so it was throwing off monster dividends.
