Here is a post from a private investors network that I am a member of, i dont know if they had specific Tyhee holdings but just an example of what is going on out there
On a personal investment note, I had some money with a good guy in CA who made some great bucks in 07 and the first part of 08. He was on leverage through Lyxor Asset Management of Societe Generale. I withdrew our money in two chunks with the last chunk coming out Sept 1. He was down about 9% for the year when I withdrew. I just got an email from him last night. Lyxor forced the manager to liquidate his holdings with all redemptions going to Lyxor until their leverage is down to zero. The partnership will likely not get access to its funds until the THIRD QUARTER OF NEXT YEAR!!!!!! Moreover, he estimates that the fund was down 18% in September. Was I smart or lucky? More smart than lucky. I warned the manager about his leverage - the two edged sword. It is the scramble for cash that is driving this partnership into the ground.
