I called around today trying to buy some silver. The only thing really available are Silver MAples at $3 over spot with a 2-4 week delivery in lots of 500.

You can order other 1 ounce rounds and bullion from NWT mint brokers for $.60 over spot with a 12-14 week delivery time. Many brokers are not taking those orders due to long lead times and uncertainty and the damage it may cause their reputation. The broker I have been using will not take any silver orders at all for this reason.

Several brokers this am told me that they had been telling people for years this would happen. They believe that at these depressed prices silver is a buy even at the premiums. I am considering some silver maples. I agree that something has to give here. This is supply/demand as taught in Econ 101. Supply down, demand up ... price up.
