Don't get me wrong. I don't suggest shorting gold. I don't think I ever have except I did carry a position in XGD during the summer to hedge some of my gold holdings at a time I thought they might go down. XGD is a short gold stock index fund and by holding a little of that it allowed me to hedge my long positions without selling them. Unfortunately, I didn't hold it long enough.

I'm not selling all my juniors off, I'm just not buying at this time. Was today a bottom? Maybe. I am not sure. But, I'll be happy to pay a little more, when technicals are showing that the corner has more certainly turned.

I do lighten up at times when technicals point down or go heavier when they seem better. I think that has cut down on losses I would have taken this year if I didn't but I still have losses.
