I think an interesting solution to propose for the government is to replicate the deal that Buffet made with Goldman for his infusion of capital-----receiving special preferred shares along with warrants at beneficial pricing. If the US citizens have to bail out these companies, why shouldn't we extract an ownership position so that we can reap the benefits down the line and have the money paid back along with additional profit?
