No one has a clue what the rumored fix will be. They say an RTC type solution but no one has explained it because it doesn't exist yet. The RTC solution was to take over troubled companies or something like this. Someone countered that the difference here would be that the government would actually buy them up.
This would cost trillions. Any plan that would work would have to cost trillions.
As it is, there are only two ways that the plan will work. Either the government will assume the bad debt or they will give out money to the companies so they can deal with their bad debt.
If this is not bullish for gold I don't know what would be. At first blush, it may cause some selling as it did today, since the safe haven factor will be diminished. However, then you have to look at the US credit rating being in jeaprody. You have to look at monetization. You have to consider the dollars being produced here. It just has to be bullish for gold.
I am also asking myself if I'm crazy? I mean, what are we missing?
