I'm Confused About Gold, the US Dollar and Inflation.

Puplava and others say that gold prices rise with increasing inflation. And that rising inflation and a weak US Dollar run together to cause gold prices to rise.

What's so confusing to me is that we have rising inflation but, at the same time, increasing dollar strength (not what we're suppose to have). And, with that, we see falling gold prices.

So, do falling gold prices have more to do with dollar strength than with inflation?
