CNBC pushing for Paulson

Here's something that really troubles me. On CNBC I've noticed that they have a strong slant against commodities. I've always assumed that they just don't like commodities. When they have a guest on that recommends commodities, particularly gold or mining stocks they usually ask very difficult questions and will side with the other guest when they put a counter point of view guest on with them.
Earlier today however, one of the main commentators (Dylan) said "Why are investors fleeing commodities? It's not JUST because the are Patriotic American's.. it's because... blah blah blah".
Consider that for a moment. This is one of their top commentators and he's suggesting that investing in commodities is anti-American. How is that possible? Don't American's control mines? Is mining not a big part of many states economies? This makes no sense to me.
Obviously it's Paulson's and the Feds mission to get commodities down at all costs but to suggest it's anti american? Later they went on to suggest a whole bunch of reasons why investors should bail on commodity plays and move into retail, financials and tech. This is a flippin' war now and I hate to be in the middle.
