Trelawney Appoints New President
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 11, 2009) - Trelawney Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:TRR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Greg Gibson as President and CEO of the Company. Mr. Gibson will replace Wayne O'Connor who is retiring at the end of February. Mr. O'Connor will continue as a consultant and will remain on the Board of Directors as Chairman.

Greg Gibson is a 30 year veteran of the mining industry having worked as a mine manager in gold and copper mines in Australia, a nickel mine in Timmins, Ontario and a gold mine in British Columbia. Mr. Gibson has worked for JS Redpath in Canada and the USA, Dynatec Mining Ltd. in Canada and the USA, Yilgarn Star Gold Mine in Australia and Copper Mines of Tasmania in Australia.

Wayne O'Connor, retiring President stated,

"Greg's experience in the mining industry will be a valuable addition to Trelawney in light of our potentially open pittable gold resources in Wawa, Ontario and the mining possibilities at the past producing copper mine in Massey, Ontario."

Mr. Gibson will be present at the Prospectors and Developers Association Convention (PDAC) booth # 2420. The PDAC is being held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building on March 1 and 2, 2009.

The Board of Directors would like to express its appreciation to Wayne O'Connor for his years of service to the Company and its shareholders. In addition, he worked diligently in acquiring an impressive array of properties for Trelawney which hold great promise for future development. Mr. O'Connor's conservation of cash and preservation of the core assets of the Company during these economically challenging times for junior mining companies is commendable.
