Speaking of green flags on abandoned mines at Rice Lake, I prowled around the internet this weekend, and found the following. It involves a field trip to the Rice Lake district, and is dated 1996, so it has very likely been posted here before but just in case it hasn't.......? Also toward the very bottom of the "trip report" is a list of old (presumably- mostly abandoned mines), their histories, records of past production, and the geological environment around specific mines
I'm no geologist, and 'will not even try to make "heads or tails" out of the geology comments. But some of you may find it useful?
