Traps

I read something on the San Gold play, and the inference was that the gold was trending to the east. Does that mean it is originating from the west or does it mean it originates from the east??(ie main orebody or source of veining). I read somewhere a reference to squeezing something and the fluids being forced out into structural weeknesses, such as fold and gaps.

I am reading too much stuff and of course a lot of it comes from unreliable sources and as such, I have a few questions from time to time.
