Focused on the Rice Lake Gold Belt
Property Summary
The property is composed of 2,004 hectares located 27 km southeast
of Bissett, Manitoba. (Jun/04)
GOLD target in Rice Lake greenstone belt.
Geology
Aerial photographs and geological mapping have identified a major
NW-SE trending shear system extending
up to 1 km in width that can be traced on the property along strike
in excess of 2 km. Quartz veining, sulphide and gold mineralization
occurs in association with a series of shear zones and folds comprising
the sheer system.
News Updates
As of Jun30/05, a summer field program was slated for late July.
Initial preliminary sampling of the property (as of Aug/03) located
three strongly sheared zones from 2 metres to 6 metres wide within
basic volcanic and intrusive rocks similar to that found at formerly
producing mines in the area, such as the San Antonio and Goldlund.
Of the 19 grab samples taken, five returned gold assays greater than
42 grams per tonne (1.2 opt).
On Aug 06/04, three new areas of interest were identified from the
results of drilling on the Discovery zone. At 14 m, hole ANG-04-01
intersected one metre grading 3.4 g/t Au and at 16.2 m, hole ANG-
04-05 intersected 4.2 m with an average grade of 1.9 g/t Au. Three
reconnaissance holes drilled west of the Discovery zone did not encounter
any significant mineralization. in addition to the drill results,
mapping and grab sampling located three new zones of interest in
the southwest of the Angelina claim group. The summer field program
of geological mapping and rock sampling located three new zones of
interest in the southwest of the Angelina claim group. The first
zone returned an assay of 13.9 g/t Au in a grab sample, the second
43.7 g/t Au in a one-metre chip sample, and the third returned 1.4
g/t Au with 2.1% Cu and 0.5% Ti in a grab sample associated with
a long linear magnetic anomaly. In addition, the three grab samples
taken at the adjacent Macketta showing verified the anomalous gold
values previously reported with assays ranging from 31 g/t Au to
205.7 g/t Au.
In Jun/04, the company optioned the 173-hectare Halfway Lake property
adjacent to the southeast of the Angelina, expanding the property
to 2,486 hectares. A 10-hole, 955m drill program was recently completed
in a northeasterly section of the property known as the Discovery
zone with assay results still pending. Elsewhere on the property,
a four-man crew is currently completing a field program comprised
of geological mapping and a geochemical survey in order to establish
additional drill targets.
On Apr19/04, the company has initiated a 10-hole, 1000m drill program.
This initial drill program will focus on testing targets around the
Discovery Zone where Gossan has found surface gold mineralization
of up to 18gpt over 3.7m (0.53opt over 12.1ft) associated with quartz
and carbonate veining within regional-scale shear zones. The Angelina
Property hosts two of these major shear systems, which extend up
to 1 km in width and along strike in excess of 2 km. The program
includes four reconnaissance holes to be drilled at three locations.
Two holes are planned to investigate the gold mineralization found
in Hole E-88-03 undertaken by Rhino Resources Inc., which returned
over 0.3opt gold over the 6-feet of core assayed. The other holes
will test additional geophysical anomalies coincident with shear
zones and lithological boundaries.
In Mar/04, the company has completed a 542 line-km airborne, high-
density, low-level magnetic and electromagnetic survey over the Angelina
Gold Property near Bissett, Manitoba. Fugro Airborne Surveys was
the contractor. The initial results of the survey are encouraging
and a complete assessment is underway. The interpretation of these
results will be released next week.
In Jan/04, retained Furgro to perform airborne high-density, low-
level magnetic and electromagnetic surveying over the property. The
results of the survey are expected in late February and target anomalies
are scheduled to be tested by tree geochemistry in March with drilling
of defined targets to follow.
In Oct/03, the company has completed an initial field program on
the property centred on the Discovery Zone. The program included
geological mapping, outcrop striping and continuous chip sampling,
as well as, an assessment of previous work on the property.
