Geological Mapping of Strike Nicholson Property has Begun.

Strike Minerals Inc (Strike) has had significant gold intersections of up to 298.43 gpt. Au over 0.46 m on its optioned Nicholson Property in its recently announced 30 hole Diamond Drill Program on the main showing of the Nicholson Gold property (refer to June 9, 2009 press release). With the success of the recent drilling program, Strike extended the options on the property in June (refer to June 17, 2009 press release) until December 31, 2009. Strike paid Bob Young $10,000 and paid a total of $10,000 and issued a further 50,000 shares to Chalice Diamond Corp. (75%) and Abitibi Mining Corp. (25%). The recent drilling program indicated a continuation of the tested vein in both a north-west and south-east direction. Several other veins were evident on the original optioned property and the newly optioned adjoining property. To fully delineate the extent of the mineralization, Strike has begun a program of detailed geological mapping and sampling, including stripping, washing and channel sampling, over the original optioned clams and the additional optioned Chalice Diamond/Abitibi adjoining claims located northwest of Missanabie, Ontario in the Townships of West and Meath. The optioned properties include 6 claims totalling 37 claim units. A team of four Geologists and assistants began work on the Property on Monday July 6th, 2009. As the property has many gold bearing zones the program should give Strike a better understanding of the geological structure of the entire property to permit more efficient exploration and development.
The Nicholson Gold Property lies in the eastern portion of the Wawa (Michipicoten) Greenstone Belt and is underlain predominantly by intermediate to felsic metavolcanics. Northwest trending shear zones and tension shears have been identified hosting pinch and swell quartz veining with sulphides, and in some instances, visible gold. The auriferous quartz veining has been traced over 140 meters on strike and there is potential for the zone to continue to both the northwest and southeast. Intersections up to 298.43 gpt Au over 0.46 m at a vertical depth of 40.5 m were found. Channel sampling had previously indicated an average grade of 14.77 gpt over 1.52 m for 57.3 m, and sampling of the north-west portion of the showing returned a weighted average grade of 8.95 gpt over 1.52 m for 16.3 m. (refer to Nov. 20, 2008 press release).
