Strateco Resources Inc.: Licence Application for Underground Exploration Program at the Matoush Uranium Property

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 5, 2008) - Strateco Resources Inc. ("Strateco")(TSX:RSC - News;FRANKFURT:RF9 - News; OTCBB:SRSIF - News) is pleased to announce that the Licence Application for the Underground Exploration Program of the Matoush Uranium property was filed today to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC). The document, describing the Underground Exploration Program, is available on Strateco's website (www.stratecoinc.com) and will be available on SEDAR (www.sedar.com) sometime today.

The application, as part of the licensing process, started with the filing on July 15th, 2008, of the Preliminary Project Description to the CNSC, the Canadian Environment Agency and the ministere du Developpement durable, de l'Environnement et des Parcs of Quebec.

Strateco continues its information and consultation program with meetings scheduled for the week of December 8th, 2008, with Mistissini's First Nations and the population of Chibougamau, located respectively 180 km and 260 km south of the Matoush property. The Underground Exploration Program is planned to begin during the summer of 2009.

Furthermore, Strateco will release Tuesday, November 11th, 2008, the conclusion of the Scoping Study done on the Matoush property.
