Edit this title from the Fast Facts Section
Silver Quest (SQI-V; $0.68) has had a
good month since we added it to the list in
the past issue, gaining 70% on anticipation
of good Yukon results. SQI has also delivered
four holes from the Capoose project in BC.
This project has an established resource of
about 700,000 gold oz & 41 million silver oz
at an average grade of 0.41 g/t gold & 24 g/t
silver. That is a grade that could work with
current metal prices, if there is large scale
and the metallurgy is straight forward
enough to allow for low costs. The holes re-
ported so far are largely in keeping with ex-
isting grades and do appear to extend the
zone on its south and northeastern sides.
What actually makes these holes interesting
is news that more massive sulphide stringers
– narrow veins, up to 25 cm across in this
case - are being cut by this year’s testing.
These could be part of a stringer zone found
adjacent to volcanogenic massive sulphide veat in place, this is the arguably the best
(VMS) deposits. Part of the Capoose target way to enhance the value of this system.
is underlain by rocks that elsewhere host
some VMS deposits that are quite precious First results were also reported from drill tar-
metals rich. Stringer zones are found in the geting work at the Prospector Mountain pro-
fractures that carried the metal laden fluids ject in the Yukon. Sampling in the Bonanza
up to the main deposit site, which in this zone area returned up to 109 g/t gold,
case contain silver plus zinc and lead bearing 1.63% copper and 543 g/t silver. These are
sulphide minerals. nice high grade numbers Soil sampling also
located some high numbers to work with, but
on the Bonanza area is a high, steep side hill
where true soil is at a premium the results
less likely to pinpoint targets. SQI is plan-
ning to drill 10 holes here this year.
Still pending are drill results from the Boule-
vard project adjacent to Kaminak’s Coffee,
and sampling from other Yukon projects.
SQI is at the front end of heavy news flow
from multiple projects in areas the market is
keen on. It too has made an all time high,
August 2010 HRA Journal 15 Silver Quest is lining up geophysical pro-grams designed to locate VMS bodies and combing its data to vector testing for mas-sive sulphides that would, presumably, carry higher metal grades. Evidence this is a VMS or related system is good news, but massive sulphide bodies still have to be located and their metals content tested. With that ca-which in part is evidence that an area play is building in Canada’s northwest. After this run we wouldn't be rushing further accumu-lating, but SQI continues to be a good specu-lation on the basis of news flow from multiple projects. http://www.silverquest.ca ΩΩΩ
