sorry meant to reply earlier but tracking alot of stocks so didn't have much free time...anyhow..re your post on what others do for a game plan.....to each his own I guess...I track it and if I'm confident I take an initial position depending on the price and how soon I feel the stock will move....so most times before a break depending on what I see/feel about how the stock is trading.... I call my first buy my initial pos. or core, which I do not trade until I want out totaly. Other times I wait for the break of res.Once it breaks res. if I've already taken my core I buy a second position and on the retest of that break,if there is one, a third position if it holds or once back thru the high generating a newer high....if it doesn't hold then the game may be off. In small caps I may take 3-5 positions on the way up...normally on the retests....and my first sell will be 25-50 percent depending on the run and the balance when I feel comfortable the run is ending or sooner if needed. The latter buys will be my traders and the core is held until the final sale. I control my pos. size and don't worry about portfolio percentage....I do not stick to the same game plan always....I diversify....I do not just buy commodities as you can tell by the stuff I ment. here.... I'm all over the place...teck, commodities, bio, the odd etf.....very little in the finance area......I like to sell spikes and believe me that takes focus, right klaus.....I hold silver and gold plays longer although I HAVE SOLD MY COPPER PLAYS........I love small cap teck growth stories and will hold them longer than normal......I hate bios although have tripled my holding in gnbt and am on the verge of buying a small drug play........I love mining plays..... I eat alot of treats throughout my trading day...not sure if i think it's lucky or I have to stay awake with the sugar...lol... but I do feel it influences the speed at which review charts and read articles.... haha
