You can earn activity points by filling your profile with information about yourself (what city you live in, your favorite team, blogs etc.)
I think you can use GDX as a proxy - the correlation isn't perfect, but it's close. I prefer GDXJ, because it should have a higher beta, so the bounces should be better.
