Porky,
Anyone can learn, when I started investing in commodities I didn't know squat about it. I got into a stock because of a friend and since that day I have spent countless hours trying to better my understanding of geophysics, metallurgy, the commodity markets among other things. So to answer your question, yes, I can gather some information from VTEMs, UTEMS etc. I may not be able to tell you how "hot" an area is and what to expect from the drill but you can most certainly see where the better readings are and where you should hit. It is my understanding that VTEMs only penetrate 400m or so, these will not show the deeper stuff, for that you have to do other geophysics from surface and down hole. If you don't know what any of the reading are showing, call the company and I know you will find someone on the other end who will want to tell you what it all means.(that is if they are doing their job! lol)
What I want on the website is as much info as possible, that way I and many, many other people can learn more about the project and yes, even funds look for this info before they ever consider investing. Unless they are an insider they are not allowed to see any info that is not before the public so in order to make everything legal most companies would like to get as much info out as possible.
Now, to the cost concerns, I believe that the costs posted on SEDAR are very conservative and the overall costs could come in quite a bit less than that. There is also money that gov't could kick in to build infrastructure etc. Also if this project has excess power to sell, the gov't would move mountains to get it up and going. Also you are assuming that SRU will have to borrow this money today, it is at least two years off until they would have to borrow the money and there is another assumption that SRU is the one who would be in control of the property by then. Once the metallurgical process proves itself out, this project will be bought out IMO. It is too large for the majors not to jump on, they will either buy it or the Chinese or Indians will buy it to supply their growing needs. By looking at the one picture of the geophysics that SRU has on the website you can see the structures(the shallow stuff anyways) running from SW to NE, they have barely touched the one limb meaning that there is much more to drill out, which in turn means that this project could get a lot larger than anyone thinks.
