II Maintaining the Confidentiality
of Information
The Disclosure Rules allow that if the early disclosure of material
information would be unduly detrimental to the company,
that information may be kept confidential for a limited period
of time. To keep material information completely confidential,
companies should:
•
not disclose the information to anybody, except in the necessary
course of business
•
make sure that if the information has been disclosed in the
necessary course of business, everyone understands that it is
to be kept confidential
•
make sure that there is no selective disclosure of confidential
