Something else that occurred to me through your repeated use of "control" was why control was so important to them.

The ROF is a remote area, and the entire region is sparsely populated without any infrastructure. This includes roads and hydro, as well as housing and other important items for a mining site.

If a competitor were to come in and buy SPQ and KWG, then there would be two companies competing for the nearly non-existant infrastructure. Doubling the labour force with two mining camps would be very strenuous. And doubling the ore output would damage the commodity price.

Cliff needs to control the chromium ore mining. They will be back with another offer when we turn this one down. Hopefully the next one will be a serious offer.
