The value of the railroad; Since this country was formed, and the first railroad connected us from coast to coast, I don't think any railroad has ever run profitably. It has always been the rights attached, and land grants, and subsidies that made the difference. This can be evidenced by the fact that CLF was content to allow development of the rairoad to proceed under the KWG/CC banner, rather than holding it themselves.
To date all that CLF, or KWG/SPQ has is chrome. There are no doubt more minerals to be found, but it is pie in the sky until that point.
The NSR should be easy to calculate. 1% of 50b worth of chrome amounts to "hmmmm......
