Prospectors meet and greet in Sault, Thunder Bay

By: Northern Ontario Business staff

There are no mining headframes in Sault Ste. Marie, but that won't stop hundreds of prospectors and geologists from heading to the Steel City for the annual Northeastern Ontario Mines and Minerals Symposium, April 13-14.

Hosted by the Ontario Prospectors Association, the two-day event at the Delta Waterfront Hotel is a combination of technical talks and industry trade show for junior mining companies, supply and service companies and the Ontario Geological Survey.

It will be the second of two symposiums held in Northern Ontario this spring. The Northwestern Ontario symposium is set for Thunder Bay's Valhalla Inn, April 7-8.

The two events will involve presentations by leading senior and junior mining companies with exploration properties across the region and into Ontario's Far North. The Canada Chrome-KWG Resources' future chromite mine project in the James Bay Lowlands and its wide-ranging economic implications will be major topics of discussion.
