Are things now different for SPQ/KWG? FWR - NOT - Cliffs

We all watched the FWR takeover game. It was rough. Are things now different for SPQ/KWG?

Here are a couple of things that have happened since the takeover:

1) We've heard directly and clearly from the Ontario Government with regards to the exciting future of the ROF.

NOTE: I believe it was in February 2009 that a number of Agoracom posters helped "pen" a letter highlighting the exciting potential of the ROF and its economic potential. Emails, snail mails, and faxes were sent to all Ontario MPPs, all Federal Government MPs, and numerous First Nations Chiefs. Donypee met with MPP Gravelle at least a couple of times. So the recent inclusion of the ROF in the Ontario Government throne speech is no fluke. It happened because of the hard work by many Agoracom posters.

2) The First Nations peoples want to be at the negotiating table for the development of the ROF.

I consider this a very positive development. The First Nations people must be there. Will the negotiations be easy? No. But hopefully all the parties at the negotiating table understand that there is a win-win-win scenerio: a win for the investor/companies, a win for the government/taxpayer, a win for the First Nations people. Looking in the short-intermediate-long term, there is a wonderful wealth generation opportunity. Cliffs says there's a hundred years worth of chromite up at the ROF. So there should potentially be a hundred years of weath generation. It is happening right now. Investment money is being spent in northern Ontario.

So I think things are different for SPQ/KWG. Does that mean that Cliffs or any other suitor is going to dump a load of $$$ on my doorstep? Ha!

So you and I must be aware of what's possibly going to go down in the near future. However, any passionate exhortation to man the barricades will be met by a steely resolve on the other side. If needs be, we must have the same steely resolve.

But I do think things are different now, and with the Ontario government involved, there hopefully will be substantive negotiations around where infrastructure will be located and built, and where jobs will be created and people trained. The Ontario government really needs this wealth generation (taxes). They're in deep doggy do-do financially.

All IMHO. Discussion invited.
