Feather61 ...
If you were a fly on the wall at yesterday's marketing meeting,(probably hosted by IBK Capital), what do you think was the primo #1 question underlying the discussions?
How about - "How do we maximize shareholder return?" Or, "How do we maximize return on investment (ROI)?" Basically the same question. Remember Neil Novak has millions of shares. He's an investor just like you and me - although clearly with more shares - and would like to maximize his investment.
Remember, we're talking about a chunk of "moose pasture" with untold mineral value underneath all that muskeg. How do we market this thing?
Let's make it personal. I'm selling my home in Toronto and moving to the west coast of Canada - specifically Victoria, B.C. How do I maximize my investment?
1) I "dress up" my home. I make certain the package is in top-notch shape. Moreover, I make certain all the data on the home is available, and I make certain that all systems are modern and in good working order. In my case, there's excellent city infrastructure and the home has "curb appeal".
2) I time the sale of my home. Here in Toronto, the best times to sell are in the Springtime and the Falltime. At these times, the weather is more benign and the lawns and gardens are at their best.
3) I value my home according to the surrounding market. Fortunately my home is in a very nice part of Toronto. I'm pushing the price a little because of its location. But by most house price standards in Canada, it's cheap. My home in Vancouver is worth twice as much.
4) Finally, as they say in real estate - and the same applies for NOT-SPQ-FWR - "location, location, location". My home is in a nice city and country - albeit not everyone's cup of tea. Moreover, the "Ring of Fire" is also in Canada - not Venezuela, nor Peru, nor Russia, nor the Democratic Republic of Congo (all probably fine countries with their own issues).
So it's about packaging, timing, pricing, and location. How does NOT-SPQ-FWR stack up? How would a "major" view this piece of real estate up in the James Bay Lowlands? Everyone has their own opinion, of course.
I think much more work needs to be done. And it's not going to be easy. Voisey's Bay discussions were long and difficult. Basically a real cliff hanger. All NOT-SPQ-FWR discussions starting some time ago, but now just beginning in earnest will be no different. If more juniors are added to the mix, it becomes even more challenging. But a fascinating quirk in human nature makes even difficult circumstances much easier - THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE BIG MONEY.
So, at this time we are all making our own conjectures on potential "return on investment", and basically doing it in a vacuum. Little news; and fewer rumors.
But what is the "risk-reward"? Methinks - HIGH & VERY HIGH. And that's why I'm here. It's called speculation.
