As noted in my post to Yixter, I think the next Great Canadian Area Play is now about PGEs. And since it is an "area play" with Noront the flagship company, Spider Resources (and FWR) are part of that area play. We are not bigger nor will we be bigger; we are just part of. Hence all of the JVs. (My thoughts, of course.)
Nickel, copper, zinc and the other base metals continue to be very important but will take a back seat for the time being.
If you go to the McFaulds forum
http://www.agoracom.com/ir/McFaulds/
and look under the photos section for the Ring of Fire map (the bottom one) and enlarge it; you will see a red line running through the claims. If you look at the bottom section of the Ring of Fire, you will find the Freewest Option site "inside" the red line. Any anomaly immediately inside the line seems to be an MMS anomaly (PGE stuff).
If you look to the east and find McFaulds East and West where SPQ has a JV with UC Resources, the anomalies here are "outside" the red line; and these anomalies are VMS anomalies (nickel & copper).
I must emphasize again (and it's just my opinion), I think Neil Novak has strategically chosen to drill for PGEs because of the proximity of the Freewest Option to the Noront Double Eagle play.
There may be 10s of millions of tons of ore here in this area play that contain platinum, palladium, gold silver, rhodium, osmium, and a gazillion other "iums". A mine, financed by CVRD for example, could be plunked down right in the middle of the area play, and there would be a lot of happy investors.
But that's all dreaming. However, day by day, it's getting closer and closer to reality.
Nickel and copper and the other base metals will see their day. But I don't think that's right now.
