On a day when the TSX market is rather flacid, I thought I would do a little reading instead of watching the share prices bounce up and down monotonously. 

Like many following the McFaulds Great Canadian Area Play, and perhaps some following Spider Resources specifically, I'm reading "The Big Score" (Jacquie McNish). 

The first paragraph of chapter seven titled "Amazing Grade" reads:

"In the life of every mineral discovery there comes a time of reckoning when drill rigs, high-tech equipment and trained scientists probe the buried ore to uncover its potential scope and richness.  The future of a mine rests on their conclusions.  It can take weeks, sometime months before a reliable map of the deposit emerges.  The waiting can be unbearable."

Sound familiar?  Feel familiar? 

By the way, the book is an excellent read.  There are many details about the initial drilling and how the drill teams wondered why the drill water ran "black" from the drill hole #2.  And the prospectors wondered, when seeing some of the drill team hefting extraordinarily heavy drill cores from hole #7, what they really had found.  And standing amazed, they looked at the drill cores seeing pentlandite crystals the size of ping-pong balls.  They had found massive sulphides.
